OUR STORY

Fireplace Concepts Inc was formed in 1993 by Peter Haats. Peter’s 8 years previous experience in the construction industry and design brought a unique set of skills to an industry that was traditionally left to gas installers turned owners that had no construction background or design sense.
We initially started with a few lines of gas fireplaces but as time went on we starting restoring wood burning fireplaces and producing mantels. The models offered by our fireplace store have changed over the years to better reflect the unique needs and styles and also to address the challenges posed by older homes.

The business as it stands today is a full-service operation serving all aspects of the industry. We have our own cabinet shop where we can produce any level of cabinetry, from mantels to built-ins and panelled rooms. We have two full time masons on staff for our reconstruction projects, two full time gas technicians, one for new installs, and one dedicated to service and maintenance. Our full-time carpenter/installer rounds out the staff along with our office administrator.
Most of our staff have been with us for 10 years or more. Peter’s role is to provide the vision for the client and make sure all options have been presented. As most of our staff have been with us for over ten years, they poses the skills to make the vision a reality. This allows us to take on at any level of complexity. With hundreds of completed projects and satisfied clients, the majority of our work is referral which is a testament to the calibre of work we do.

We are continually searching for the very best in products and top quality manufacturing. We deal with a wide variety of high end manufacturers for both commercial and residential purposes. If you have an inspiration for a fire feature we will do our best to find a way to make it happen by customizing it. Come in and take a look through our showroom to see all of the models available.
